The hours add up once you factor in trucking spoil away, any backfill material brought in, and time spent working around existing services.

Several things move the price within that range. Depth matters: a full basement takes more digging than a crawl space. Access to the site affects how the machine is positioned and how trucks get in and out. The volume of spoil and how far it travels to disposal affects trucking cost.
